Rollin with the Blues

This is quite hilarious I’m writing this and realised that this song and Change in the weather.. both came out of an earlier version of change in the Weather.. it was a slide song back then.. funny I only just noticed it as I was writing this.. one of them may have to go.. probably this one.

Song was a really marking a turning point in my thinking.
I was kinda doing what  I wanted to do..play guitar but it was in a band context and for me that always turned out the same way.. some visionary in the Bands vision see’s this new stadium playing world touring sensation band only working if there vision is followed to to the letter.. which usually means this is a Blues band that sounds not at all like anything to do with Blues music.

It was sort of fun. At least a safe way to learn but I always wanted to play and sing my own tunes.. I decided at some stage shit or bust I would do that.. no more Bands.. then started Malt Whiskey with Tim.. guess thats a band.. but it was cool sounded like Blues to me and him as well.. we were on the same page.. so the song is the standard Blues crossroads which you can take any way that suits your own crossroad.. we all have them.

Rollin with the Blues

I’m standing at a crossroad aint got no where to go
Left to the city, right to me’s dead long ago
Standing all alone wind begin to blow
Cant go back or ahead I know
Rollin with the Blues I cant go back no more

So I’m looking for answers on the cool mornin breeze
When silent intuition gottta hold of me
Left to the city, right head out to soul less seas
Ahead don’t promise nothing but my soul at ease
Rollin with the Blues it got a hold o’ me

Nights fall an storms rollin
Them Blues people like rain seepin in
Today said tomorrow what come of yesterday?
Tomorrows dawn always ebb away
I’m rollin with the Blues
But sweet time got away

So I’m standing all alone on this dark dreary night
I scoped the stars with my soul and I seen the light
You cant never know heaven thinking wrong and right
Gotta dance each step in the moonlight
And rollin with the Blues everythin’ gonna be alright
