1 CENT HAT

Life isn’t always the Blues.. 1 cent hat was a little ditty I came up with after an eBay win.. I was looking for a Blues guy hat and saw one with no reserve so being a dick mostly I put in the lowest bid possible which was 0.01c .. I didn’t think anything of it until I got an email saying I won an auction and saw that I was the highest bidder on that damn hat.. Ok I guess the next thing was would they even send it?… I paid the postage think it was $7 and thought we’ll see what happens.. 

A couple of days later this very cool old hat turns up.. so you know… One Cent hat is just sometimes life does go your way and we kinda forget that a lot of the time.. 

The second verse is kinda about local “Blues artists” like a damn halloween party.. white dudes dressed like pimps.. Fancy Dress but some of us are really Opshop end of town and occasionally 1 cent eBay winners.. it was also about well.. theres nothing wrong with that… its not all image.. where’s the substance to back it up? Thats the important part of music.. where’s the story? ..wheres your story?.. 

The 3rd verse is kinda screw those guys.. again back to just keep it simple.. “Banana bread n cream maybe thats my scene”.. IE nothing flash but good stuff in its one right .. the simple life.. I think that’s the song in a nutshell.. 

It doesn’t all have to be deep and meaningful.. it doesn’t have to be fancy wine and suits..
